Iris X Reading of the Week/Week beginning on 11.20.23:

Every week, I shuffle the cards and ask for a reading for someone who will see this post. I never know who it will be for until I post it. Sometimes it's for one person, other times it's for many! This week's reading was done on an old friend of mine- The Wildwood Tarot. If this is your reading, things are not easy right now.  Read on and see if this reading is for you.

The reading begins with the Five of Vessels, which is called Ecstasy in this deck. This is a card of sadness and loss ,and if this is your reading, you are mourning a really hard loss. It makes it sometimes feel like it's not worth it to let anyone get close to you. But what is the alternative? If the dancer in the card doesn't lose herself in the dance, then she will never take a risk or lose her heart. She will not feel anything at all. There is no way to dance without kicking over the vessels. When you are heartbroken, it is hard to decide if it was worth it or not. And so you wonder- was the dance worth the heartache?

The Ancestor/Hierophant appears next. You are feeling drawn to studying sacred ways and traditions. You are looking for an answer. You want things to make sense- you want to understand the world. You are reaching out for help and looking for something to believe in. You feel that there are answers that you do not yet have- and you are looking to understand through listening to the world around you and the traditions that have helped others.

The Six of Bows comes up next, and is labeled Abundance. There are so many ways that you are full. You have a lot to work with, and you feel successful in your life despite your sadness. There are many things for you to be proud of, and it may be good to let people around you celebrate you. You have a lot in your life, and you are aware of this even as you deal with loss.

The key to this reading is Temperance/Balance. There is a lot going on at once. Stay in the center right now, and find a place of equilibrium. Don't go to any extremes- take a deep breath and stay in the center and at peace. It is important to not let people and circumstances sway you to a more extreme position. The best place to be right now is right in the middle.

Here is what I see. If this is your reading, you are dealing with an incredibly difficult loss. You are questioning if it is worth it to let people in, or if you should avoid relationships altogether. You are trying to find sense in something that feels senseless, and you are looking into sacred ways and visionary teachers to help you to understand. You are reminded that this is One loss; and there is a lot of good in your life. You have so much, even with what you lost. You are trying to focus your energy in a positive way so that the mourning that you are doing is something that transforms and heals you. The best way to accomplish this is to find your own sense of balance. Don't let anything sway you to a place of extremes. Finding your own spiritual balance is the best thing that you can do right now. Don't fall into black and white ways of thinking that tell you that you don't need people. Find your place in the center, take a deep breath, and get through one day at a time. Find new traditions and ways to help you build your life back up; and remember that you are full of abundance in your life, even when you are at a loss.

If you need a reading this week, I have minimal openings on Wednesday and Friday. Send me a message at irisxtarot@gmail.com to set something up! Have a great week!
