Greetings to the friends of Iris X Readings! This week's reading was done on The Raven's Dream Tarot by MJ Cullinane. Very often, decks that are focused on one topic are a bit repetitive, but this deck is fantastically diverse. I like that it is bright because it is a better match for the vision of Ravens. While humans have three color-detecting cones in their eyes — to see red, green and blue shades — birds have a fourth cone that enables them to see ultraviolet (UV) light. Ravens see colors that humans cannot imagine. It is a bright and colorful world for the birds that people associate with the darkness. If you look close at the dark feathers, you will see hints of colors that we cannot see. I shuffled the Raven's Dream Tarot and asked for a reading for a person who will see this post. I am not sure who it is for, so please share! This is a reading for a person who needs some space and silence. Read on and see if it's for you!
The reading begins with the Nine of Pentacles. If this is your reading, you work well by yourself. You are able to think clearly when you are alone. You prefer to putter around, moving from task to task. You are happiest when you are busy. You are both prosperous and successful, but you move at your own pace and don't like to be told what to do or how to act. You are efficient and skilled- and you do best if you have space to yourself.
The Moon appears next showing that everything around you is shifting and changing. There is an element of magic and mysticism to all that you see, and you pick up on the 'little things' around you. Things feel like they are happening as they are meant to, and you are trying to distinguish between your intuition and your anxiety. Your mood and energy may be shifting with the Moon itself, and you have been feeling like your nerves are on the outside. You are both inspired and anxious and feel a bit tossed about by the currents around you.
The Hermit comes up next showing that you need some space to yourself. It is time to climb into your cave with a lantern to light the way. You need silence and peace, and it feels like you may have to push to make this happen. With the Moon in your reading, there is a good reason to be silent and to listen right now. The world may be pushing you to be social and seen- but your instinct is the exact opposite. Follow your instincts into the cave. It is the dark time of the year, and it is a good time to rest and recover.
The key to this reading is the Seven of Wands. You have been really overwhelmed for a long time. You are stretched between the things that are contending for your attention, and you feel like you don't have time to recover before the day starts up again. You are feeling anxious and like there is more to do than you have the capacity to do. There is a lot that you are working on and trying to accomplish right now, and you are not getting a break or a chance to sit down.
Here's what I see. If this is your reading, you are a spiritual and sensitive person. When given the space that you need, you are creative and inspired- able to dream things into reality with ease. You like to be off in your mind, working on projects in silence and peace. Right now, the circumstances of life are making you feel like you are picking up on a lot of energy around you. You have been unable to shut the world out, and it is taking a toll on you. You have been feeling inspired with visions and anxious with worries all at the same time. You need a little bit of space to yourself to recover from something that took a lot of your energy. You need a reset, and it may be helpful to take a long walk alone in the woods. You have been really overwhelmed for a long time. You are pulled in so many directions that you don't know which end is up sometimes. From the planets, weather and circumstances of your life- to the energy from others that you easily sense.
It's all too much, and you feel like you don't know how to find the ground under your feet. You are stretched- yet you keep giving and giving. The best thing to do right now is to find some silence and to recover. There's a lot coming at you at once; both spiritual and mundane. It's time to take a break and cut off from the world for a few days. You need time to reset and recover.
