Iris X Reading of the Week/Week beginning on 4/15/24:

Every week, I shuffle the cards and ask for a reading for someone who will see this post. I never know who it will be for until I post it. This reading is for someone that needs to take a deep breath and slow down. This week's reading was done on The Wayfarer Tarot- a deck that I co-created with Margaret Shipman. If you are interested in seeing more of the deck, check out https://wayfarertarot.com. There is even a preview for our next Tarot deck that is in process! As for this reading- read on and see if the cards are speaking to you. If you are moving too quickly and trading excitement for seriousness- it might be your reading.

The reading begins with The Fool. This is a card of new beginnings and excitement. The Fool is not always wise, but is sure to learn lessons along the way. If this is your reading, you feel like something new is beginning and that it could change your life. You are trying to keep all of your possibilities open and you are feeling ready for whatever your path or journey has in store. You have a free spirit and an open heart, and you are led only by your curiosity.

Judgement appears next, which is quite different from the Fool. Where the Fool is open and free spirited, Judgement is definitive. While you may be walking into something in a haphazard way, what you are doing is life changing. It may even define you as a person or make you understand your place in the world. You will have an eye opening experience. You are making decisions with your actions, even if not with your words.

The Emperor is next, showing you building your future. This is a card of staying in control and the leadership that it will take to build and accomplish your goals. The Emperor is a card of practical responsibility and putting down roots for the future. You will be looking far ahead, and making decisions based on that. This is a card of seriousness, responsibility and leadership. At the other side of a Judgement is a solid foundation. If that's what you are seeking.

The key is The Knight of Earth. Perhaps you should slow down a bit. You are taking something that is an exciting new beginning, and making it into something quite serious quickly. As our Knight rides on a tortoise, maybe you could do the same and slow down a bit. You are moving too fast, and the key is to move slowly, and build up from there as you go.

Here's what I see. You are standing between the Fool and the Emperor with a decision in the middle and advice to slow down. If this is your reading, there is something that you are new at. You are a Fool, stumbling around and trying to figure out which way to go. Your instincts are clear, and you are a free spirit on your path. But this reading goes from carefree to extremely serious very quickly. You are making big decisions and are ready to have a rebirth. You feel like you are different than you were, and changing fast. You may be trying to grow or change far too fast. The Fool's wisdom is in their innocence and freedom. You are heading in a direction where you stay in control of the situation. You use your new path to build up a solid foundation for your future. You live in the future, and not the present. I wonder if you are taking a hobby, or something that you love to do, and making it into a vocation before you have time to experience it all. Consider slowing down, riding a tortoise and smelling the roses along the way. In this reading, you go from being a free Spirit to being an enterprising leader with a judgment in the middle. And the cards are telling you that you don't have to move as fast as you are. You don't have to figure everything out right now. You can stay in a place of excitement and enchantment without making serious plans for the future and letting it change your life. You are taking everything too seriously! Relax, hold it all lightly, and have some fun with the new things in your life. Don't become so serious so quickly- it is exciting to be a beginner and to learn new things. Who would want to rush? Slow down and enjoy it all. You can make serious plans later.
