Iris X Reading of the Week/Week beginning on 4.18.22:

Good Morning and happy Moon day to the friends of Iris X Readings! Every week, I shuffle the cards to ask for a reading for someone who will read this post. I never know who it is for until people respond! This week's reading was done on The Wayfarer Tarot, a Tarot deck created by me and Margaret Shipman, meant to make Tarot accessible and easy to work with!

The week begins with The Fool. This is the only Major arcana card of the week, and that means that the whole reading is about this card. If this is your reading, you are a Fool at heart. A free spirit who doesn't like to have much of a plan. You have always been the Fool, ready to jump up and take an adventure, even if it makes no sense at all. This part of yourself is calling to you- there is a new beginning for you.

The IV of Earth shows up next to show what has happened. This is a card of responsibilities. It is about having to hold back and do what you are supposed to. It is responsible, of course, but not always fulfilling. You have been building a solid base and structure for yourself, paying your bills, and working hard. But you feel a little bit isolated, and far from the goals you had started out with.

The IX of Fire wraps up the week with you drawing boundaries and lines. It is said that we first draw a line in the sand. And if that doesn't work, we draw the line with fire. It appears that you have lost your patience for conformity, and you are fighting back and saying- I need my space to be who I am. You are feeling defensive, and you would not be if you had not had your lines crossed. You have given up your needs for too long to help others.

The key to this week is the VI of Fire, showing you putting yourself in the center. There are times that I would not suggest this, because of course we should focus our energy on helping other people too. But it seems that you have done that so much that you lost track of who you are, and what you want to do and be. Putting your needs in the center may feel uncomfortable at first; but it is far past time for this.

Here's what I see. If this is your reading, you have the Spirit of the Fool. You were always free and adventurous, not really needing a lot of structure and rules. But- reality happened. You became responsible and started to worry about things like credit, savings, and bills. And now, the free spirit in you is demanding again to be free. And you aren't messing around, you are willing to use fire to draw your lines. It is time to put your needs in the center, and you have been feeling it. You are still the Fool, deep down- still a free spirit. And it's time you start acting like it again. How long has it been since you have put your needs first?

Have a good week, and if you are the Fool- then don't put yourself in a box, you will suffer there. If you need a reading this week, send a message to irisxtarot@gmail.com.
