This week's reading was done on the Cary Yale Visconti Tarocchi. I have always had a love for the roots of Tarot. Not because I think that it is somehow 'better' than modern Tarot, but because I appreciate the evolution of Tarot. Tarot is a living tradition, changing every time someone engages with it. The meanings of the cards are not static, and they change as we do. So, I enjoy looking at the roots of where it all began. The Cary Yale is not a simple deck to work with. There are no words or numbers. Very often you have to determine which card you are looking at by very small details in the cards. But I love to challenge myself when it comes to Tarot- and this deck absolutely challenges and enchants. I shuffled the cards and asked for a reading for someone who will see this post. Read on- see if it is for you!
The reading begins with The Star. This is the Muse of Tarot, enchanting all who cross her path. This is the card that wakes up our inspiration and creativity. The Star is the card of energy that is beginning to move again, and the healing that is associated with it. If this is your reading, you are waking back up. You have gone through challenges that made it hard to access the parts of you that are creative and inspired. The Muse of Tarot enters your reading to show you that you are going to feel inspired again- you are getting there.
The VII of Cups appears next. You have felt like you just can't put your feet on the ground. You have been off in your own world, daydreaming about possibilities while struggling to bring it all down to earth to manifest. You have a lot of thoughts and ideas about the ways that the future may look for you. But you don't know practically where to start. You have felt spaced out and unsure of what to do even as opportunities present themselves.
Judgment appears next and shows a reawakening. This is the card that makes everything clear. You will know who you are and what you are meant to do. This is a card of vocation and clarity. You will wake back up and find your purpose in the world. This is a card of hearing the call and responding to it. Pay close attention, and use your discernment and wise judgment to find your way.
The key to this reading is the Knight of Cups. You don't have to figure this all out right now. You can go with the flow for now- floating along until you feel inspired. You don't have to move fast right now- you can go at a pace that makes sense. Move like water; changing to fit the environment that you are in, being willing to change as the times do.
Here's what I see. If this is your reading, you have been quite hard on yourself. You have been going through a time where you don't feel focused or clear. You are responding to difficult times in your life and the world around you. You have felt ungrounded and unclear. You are about to wake back up though. You will be feeling inspired and creative; knowing what to focus your energy on. You are meant to float along right now, and do what you have to to stay on top of the tides. Daydreaming and being off in your mind is not a bad thing right now. Pay attention to your thoughts as they float by. You should feel a sense of clarity, focus and purpose soon. The Muse of Tarot is working to wake you up. You don't have to know what to do yet- that's to come in the future. Right now, stay calm and look for moments of inspiration, enchantment and clarity. Eventually it will wake something up in you, and you will move forward with great purpose. In the meantime, move like the water, adapting to the changing world around you as you go. You will know it when you are having a thought that is going to be transformational to your life. Right now, you can just let it all float by til you feel that moment of clarity. And- you will. Hang in there.
