I just got a brand new Tarot deck! The Universal Folk Tarot by Anita Inverarity. I love the style of this artist, so I have been looking forward to having this deck for a very long time. I love how animals and birds are entwined with people to create a reality that is beautiful to see. The cards are whimsical and serious at once- they follow a traditional Pamela Coleman Smith/Rider Waite format. I feel like I relate very deeply to the way the world looks in this Tarot deck. It's the world I live in too. And I LOVE the design on the back of the cards- one of my favorites yet. I shuffled the cards and asked for a reading for someone who will see this post. Share it around and make sure that the person that is meant to see this reading has it cross their path. This is a reading for a person who is just about to walk into the next stage of their life.
The reading begins with The Hanged Man. You are in a state of suspension, waiting for the next thing to happen. You are at the crossroads in your life, and things will change completely after this time. But you are not quite there yet- you are waiting. You may wish that you could make things move faster, but there is a lot of wisdom and insight to be gained when things are about to change. Use this time wisely!
The Six of Cups appears next. This is a card that represents Rites of passage. Similar to the Hanged Man, you are crossing the bridge into the next stage of your life. There are feelings of nostalgia as you feel tugged to the future and the past all at once. This is an important time in your life that would be easy to rush through. Some people run across the bridge into the next life stage. This card suggests stopping to smell the flowers along the way. Remember that this time is important and celebrate it.
The High Priestess appears next as the Gatekeeper of the Tarot deck. She sits at the gate that you will walk through. On the other side of that gate, nothing will be the same. Change happens slowly and then very fast- all at once. You will find yourself at the door that leads to your future. You have gotten there by following your intuition. This is a card of clear knowing. You know where you are, who you are, and what you are doing. You feel clear as you step through the door.
The World is the key. As the last card of the Major mysteries of the Tarot deck, this card represents completion, success and fulfillment. It is the end of a very long path that you have been walking on. For one moment, you stand in a place where everything is in balance, and where all is right with the world. You may be tempted to rush onto what is next, but the World is about being present. Be where you are right now. Enjoy the completion, success and celebrations. You deserve it.
Here's what I see. I don't always tell people who I think the reading is for- but this reading feels like it is for people who are graduating and moving into the next stage of life (though could be for a person going through a major life change as well. ) It can be hard when you are getting towards the end. You feel like things are moving fast, and then not at all. You have felt suspended and like everything is going as slowly as possible. Yet you know that nothing will ever be the same again. It may be tempting to think that this time is not a big deal, but it really is. You are walking into the future, and you only have a little more time to be where you are now. You may feel nostalgic for the past and like you can't wait for the future to get here. But the gate that you walk through is very important- you will not be the same after this. Trust the intuition that has guided you to this place, and get ready for everything to change. But first- be present. You are in a place of completion and success. You have done a really good job- let yourself sink into it and be happy. You have worked really hard, and you deserve all the success in the world. Let people celebrate you, and feel proud of yourself. To get The World in a reading means that you walked a very long way to get there. Well done!
If you need a reading this week, send me a message at irisxtarot@gmail.com. For the person(s) that this reading is for- I am so excited for you. Let me know if you need any help along the way. Congratulations!
