This week's reading was done on The Universal Folk Tarot by Anita Inverarity. It's a new deck to me, and I Love working with it! I shuffled the cards and asked for a reading for someone who will see this post. I never know who it will be for until I post it. Sometimes, it's for someone in particular; other times it's for a number of people. This is a reading for someone that is feeling frustrated with themselves for not being able to move on from something faster. Read on- see if it's for you or someone that you know. Please share!
The reading begins with the V of Cups, aptly named 'Sorrow' in this deck. If this is your reading, you have experienced a major loss. Your heart broke, and you still haven't figured out how to put it back together again. You have been feeling emotionally stuck- like you don't know how to move on from the place you are in. You feel lost, disappointed and angry.
The III of Wands comes up next. Are people telling you to 'let it go' or 'just move on?' These are not tangible things that we can actually do, though that is often the advice that we get when we are stuck. Basically- to drop it, and not think about the problem anymore. To release the way you are feeling, and to move onto other goals and plans in your life. You have not found this to be easy. It's hard to get perspective when you are still in the middle of processing your sadness.
With the Knight of Wands, you feel like you start something new, but then you get distracted and you lose your attention. You start up and stop again; and this frustrates you even more. You are having a hard time maintaining attention right now. You feel like you can't focus your mind on one thing at a time. You think of something that you want to do, and then you have a really hard time following through.
The key to the reading is the Queen of Swords. The Swords suit is a challenging suit of the Tarot deck, and it takes a powerful person to take the Sword and work with it. You are able to do this. You have more power and wisdom than you give yourself credit for. You will find yourself feeling more in control, focused, and clear. Be patient- you are trying to get through a big challenge; don't be hard on yourself.
Here's what I see. If this is your reading, you are feeling lost and hopeless. Something fell apart in your life, and you are left wondering how it could have happened. You have been feeling like you can't focus or put one foot in front of the other. In your head, there is a directive to 'move on.' It may be yourself or other people who have been telling you this, and now you feel bad for feeling bad. And that doesn't help you to heal. You are upset with yourself because you feel like you try to heal, and then you lose focus. Your energy comes in bursts, and there are times that you have no energy at all. The key is to be kind to yourself. You are becoming the Queen of Swords. Your clarity and focus are returning after a very hard experience. It's important to understand that this is a serious challenge that you are going through, and you are doing the best you can. You will be able to take a deep breath and feel better soon. You may not drop 'it' and 'move on', but your vision will clear and you will be wise and ready for the next time you end up in a situation like you are in now. It's going to be ok! And it's ok if it takes a bit of time and doesn't go as quickly as you (or others) would like it to.
