Iris X Reading of the Week/Week beginning on 5/6/24:

This week's reading was done on a beautiful deck- The Herbcrafter's Tarot, created by Joanna Powell Colbert and Latisha Guthrie. I love the artwork and associations with herbs and plants. I shuffled the cards and asked for a reading for someone who will see this post. I never know who it will be for until I post it. Read on- see if it's for you. This is a reading for a person that is happy doing what they are doing, and may need to draw some boundaries to maintain their peace.

The reading begins with the Nine of Earth, associated with the Apple. This is a card of leisure and peace. If this is your reading, you are moving along at a good pace right now. You are happy doing what you are doing, and don't feel like you want to make any changes. You prefer time to yourself, and are happiest when you have projects to do. You like to be with the plants and birds, moving at your own pace. You are quite successful doing this. Just like the apple- there are times when simplicity is best.

You have an opportunity to expand what you are doing with the Ace of Earth, associated with the healing Nettle. This is a good opportunity- something that would be prosperous and successful. But this is the Ace of work- and you will end up having to pick up your speed. This is a great opportunity, but it is of the suit of work. This is a card that will lead to success.

But this changes your energy and pace quite a lot. The Seven of Fire/Cinnamon, shows you heated up and overwhelmed. You will be stretched and busy; trying to get through a neverending list of tasks. This card is connected with the Chariot, and this is often the best way to be successful and accomplish your goals. You will be busy though and will feel pretty overwhelmed.

The key to this reading is The Devil/Blackberry. It is important to look at how you expend your energy and to protect your free time. If you are chained into something, you will miss the opportunities that come when you have free time that is unplanned. It is time to do a really honest evaluation of what you want your life to look like, and what your priorities are.

Here's what I see. You are successful and happy on your own, doing your own work at your pace. You have an opportunity to add something or to begin something new in the realm of work. It is a Good opportunity, but it would threaten your independence and freedom. You have potential to move from a place of feeling relaxed and grounded to being far too overwhelmed with work. It's a choice you will have to make. You are really comfortable where you are- but the Ace is a really good opportunity. It is important to make sure that you don't do anything that will take your freedom away, and it is very possible that this will happen if you accept the new opportunity. But the opportunity will lead to success. It is a question of whether or not you want peaceful time to wander and do projects- or if you want to take an opportunity that will help you to accomplish your goals; but may overwhelm you too. Make sure that you don't put a chain around your neck that will change your life in a way that you do not want. Take some time to think about your life, pace, and future. Make a decision that is in line with that.
