Last week, I picked up the Cary Yale Visconti Tarocchi deck to do the Iris X Reading on. I struggled quite a bit with the deck and its imagery, and decided to spend some concentrated time getting to know this old Tarot deck. On my day off, I put the deck in order. This isn't easy with a deck that has no numbers or words on it! And then, I spent the afternoon working with the cards. Today, I pulled cards from that deck and felt totally comfortable. I bring this up as a reminder that if you are trying to learn to read Tarot cards, it takes work! It's a myth that it is a 'gift'. It is a skill that takes time, effort, and study. That's how you get good at reading cards. I shuffled the cards and asked for a reading for someone that will see this post. This week, the Cary Yale Visconti deck gave me a reading for a person that has been feeling trapped in a situation that is draining their energy. Read on and see if it's for you or someone that you know!
The reading begins with The Devil. If this is your reading, you have been in a situation that has taken away your energy and your freedom. It is a chain around your neck that needs to come off. You are feeling trapped and like you don't know what to do next, but you know that you can't stay where you are. All of your energy is draining out of you, and you don't have any hope of things getting better. You have to make a change.
Ace of Swords appears next. There is a lesson in all of this for you. Very often, the Sword appears when there is something that you have to battle. A Sword is a weapon, and there are times that you have to learn to fight back. The Sword can also cut ties that are harmful. This suggests leaving the situation that has caused you so much exhaustion and upset. It is not easy, but you will be successful if you are able to do this.
The Page of Cups appears next with a message of love. This is a message concerning something that you have to do for your emotional well being. It also represents the very beginning of something new- doing things a new way, and healing your heart. I pulled an additional card to see what the message is that the Page has, and the VIII of Cups appears. You have to walk away so that you can find sense in your situation. It is one of those times that you are the one that has the answers, and going to other people will only over complicate the situation. You have to walk away and find some silence. Something has not been coming together in your life, and you have the power to come up with the answers to the questions that you are asking other people.
The key to this reading is the II of Wands. You need to come up with a plan. It is ok to take a moment to contemplate what to do next, but you have to be moving in a direction that is more healthy for you. At this point, you need tangible steps to follow and actions to take. You are on the path to finding your way out of a challenging situation. You have to start by taking one step at a time.
Here's what I see. If this is your reading, you have been in a bad situation for a very long time. You are absolutely exhausted, and you feel trapped where you are. But, you are not trapped. You are being handed a Sword to fight your way out of the situation that is causing you harm. You can manage this, even though it is quite difficult. The first thing to do is to stop listening to other people, and go on a walk to find the answers yourself. You have something to figure out here, and it's often hard to do that when there are people sharing their opinions, however well intentioned. You can get out of the situation that you are in, but the key is a solid plan. You need tangible steps and timelines. The cards are telling you to pause, ponder your predicament, and then to come up with a step by step plan to take your power back. You can manage all of this, even though it is uncomfortable. You have everything that you need to break the chain.

Wow, I feel like this is a reminder. I believe I've had this reading before but now I am armed with the power to cut through the BS and really move forward!
