This week's reading was done on the Cary Yale Visconti deck; the oldest Tarot deck that can be found in print to my knowledge. It's not a simple Tarot deck to learn- in fact, it's the most complicated deck that I have worked with. But the art is gorgeous; and I love the traditional imagery. It's good to stretch my mind every now and then to work with a deck that really challenges me. This week's reading was done on the Cary Yale Visconti. I shuffled the cards and asked for a reading for someone who will see this post. I never know who it is for until it is posted and people respond! This reading is for someone that could use a sense of peace in their lives- and it's time to make it a priority. Read on and see if it's a reading for you or someone that you know!
The reading begins with the Ace of Pentacles, and is the only Minor arcana card of the reading. When this happens, the cards are telling you about what you have to physically Do. There is an action to take. You have an opportunity that would be very successful for you. As an Earth card, this is an Ace that would help to ground you and put your feet on the earth. It would make you feel secure and sure about your place in the world.
The Moon appears next, speaking to a person who ranges from inspired dreaming to straight anxiety. The Moon waxes and wanes- and if this is your reading, you do too. There are days when you feel calm and like you know what is going on in the world. Other days, you feel shaken and nervous- jumping at your own shadow. While the patterns of the Moon can seem to be random, there is a rhyme and reason to it all. This can be hard to find when you are in the middle of it though. You just feel a bit 'all over the place'- but inspired at the same time.
The High Priestess appears next, standing at a gate to open it for you. There is wisdom for you to find and understand. You have to stay balanced and centered, following your own intuition as your north star and guiding force. It is a time that you have to stand in the center- refusing to get pulled to extremes of dark or light. Meditate, breathe, and find value in silence and peace.
The key to this reading is The Hermit. There are times that you have to take a step back from the world to find your path again. Your key is to wander and wonder; and to find your way by going your own way. Pay attention to the details that are happening around you. Watch a spider weave a web. Learn about the birds. Pay attention to the wildlife in your area. Step back and pay attention. Sometimes you are meant to experience what is happening without trying to make it all change. Just observe and take it all in.
Here's what I see. If this is your reading, you are having a tough time lately. You feel like you are up in the air and being affected by the winds of change and the chaos of the world around you. You feel alternately nervous and inspired. You are having a hard time feeling rooted to the ground under your feet. Every day you wake up and feel pulled from a state of peace to one extreme and then the other. You have an opportunity to change that right now. There are options that would help you to feel grounded- but they are more spiritual than you may expect. You have to find a place in you that is a Center- a place that you can't be pulled away from. This will take time and work- and your current work is spiritual. You need some space to yourself- and a heck of a lot more silence. Your boundaries have to be strong and hard to cross. The world is dragging your emotions around. Don't Let It. Be strong, rooted, and wise. Hold everything lightly, and notice when you are moving into a place of extremes. Find peace in the center of chaos. If you don't feel like you can find peace; step back again. Take a walk. Identify a new plant. Talk to a tree. Read a book. Be the peace that you are trying so hard to find. It's got to start from the center.
Seems like sage advice from an old Tarot deck for this time. If you need a reading this week, send a message to irisxtarot@gmail.com. Have a great week!
